What Are Ready Readers?
Vital ready readers are reading glasses with magnifying lenses that make it easier for you to focus on close objects.
As we age, many of us will notice we start to squint or strain when performing close up tasks, such as reading, using devices or hobbies like sewing, painting or cooking.
Ready reader glasses offer an affordable choice for improving up-close vision and focus, without the need for a personalised prescription. They have the same strength in each lens, and aren’t intended to correct astigmatisms.
Before using ready readers on a regular basis, it’s advisable to seek the advice of an optometrist or eye care professional to check the overall health of your eyes and the suitability of these glasses for your needs.
And while ready readers are a practical off-the-shelf solution, we think they should look good, too. We’ve elevated the style and comfort of ready readers with more thoughtful design; read more about our approach or explore our frame features.
Why might I be struggling with close vision?
Changes to your vision as you age are common. Typically starting after the age of 40, this condition is known as presbyopia, where changes to the eye’s lens make it more difficult for the eye to focus.
You may have noticed symptoms such as:
- Blurred vision when reading or performing tasks up close
- Difficulty focusing on close-up objects
- Eyestrain or headaches, especially when doing close-up work for extended periods
- The need to hold reading material further away from the eyes in order to see it clearly
